The charming realism of the history adds so much of the essence depth , with the directing allowing Nelly and Marion ’s feelings — of wonder , disarray , grief , love , understanding , sorrowfulness — to rise to the surface , flowing like wave on a shoring . Petite Mamanis deliberate , with every exclusive one of Sciamma ’s shots lingering long enough for the characters and the audience to fully sit around with gravitational attraction of the unfolding narrative and its worked up impression . The film is still , with the director ( as she often does ) exit a melodious mark out of the film for the most part . When music does finally play , it feels meaningful , poignant , and timed to the reference ’ development and overall journey , which spend a penny it all the more memorable .
