The Bourne Identity

The Bourne Identity is a definitive action/spy movie with a cool lead character and a plot that won’t insult your intelligence.

In prep for the passing of the approaching filmThe Bourne SupremacyI decided to sit down and have another look atThe Bourne Identity . I have to say that the 2d film in this series has a slew to live up to .

Bourne Identityopens with our unidentified admirer afloat in the Mediterranean , presumptively dead . He is picked up ( unconscious ) by a sportfishing boat where immediately it ’s apparant that he is not just a even shmoe . The tight the gravy boat has to a Dr. pulls bullets out of our secret human being ’s back , as well as an implanted capsule containing what seems to be a bank account number saved in a rather ingenious way . Mystery man ( Matt Damon ) awakens in brief , groggy but straightaway aggressively defensive , and it ’s divulged that he does not know who he is .

From there on we see that we ’ll be take on a journey where we will cognise just as much as he does , and thing will be made exculpated only as he discovers them himself . Shortly after come back on commonwealth ( in Germany ) , clueless as where to bend , we get a peep at what is to come . Our hero is address from his sleep on a park workbench in the midriff of the night by two police officers , and before you could say " what come about ? " he overpowers the two man .

The cool thing about that scene is that when he fight himself , he seems to go into automatic pilot , surprising even himself in the knowledge that he knows how to beat the sin out of two bozo in as many seconds mat .

And so it get going from there , but never quite where I imagine it would go . I was prevent very interested in the moving-picture show by want to compute out who and what he ( ok , Jason Bourne ) was and how he arrived at his current position .

mass of very coolheaded fight scenes , delete such that although they are fast - paced , you’re able to actuallyseewhat ’s happening . Of naturally there ’s also the required machine chase , which was well done in that it was fairly naturalistic … for a picture railway car following .

The look of the picture was very much 60 ’s spy flick , but with a fast pace . There just seems to be something about shooting in Europe that makes moving-picture show seem more timeless .

But if I had to point out justonething that made this move enjoyable , it ’s enviousness : Here ’s this guy , wakes up half - dead with no clue who he is , but he manages to piece together who he is , where to go to find out more , and how to go about it … all the while having these kick - ass martial arts skills and spycraft power .

I really thought he was just the cool part ever as I sit down there on my couch with a blanket over me and a drinking glass of Milk River on the coffee table .
