Survival of the Dead , the 6th film in George Romero ’s " stagnant " dealership , might be the director ’s weird zombie movie yet . Mixing genres freely , Survivalis at time a Western , a traditional splutter moving-picture show , and a Looney Tunes cartoon . Unfortunately , the result is a wooly-minded motion-picture show that lacks Romero ’s trademark social irony and delivers few , if any , relatable quality .

Unfortunately , Romero go away a little overboard on CGI during the film , lead to far too many cheap - looking headshots .
Worse than the so - so CGI , however , is the fact that the picture miss any veridical common sense of latent hostility . I know that most multitude watch zombie movies for the gore , but should n’t there besomescares ? afford credits tell us that the zombies have only been walk among the aliveness for a short period of time , yet the eccentric inSurvivalwalk around brazenly , completely untroubled .
As far as social commentary extend , I suppose ifSurvival of the Deadteaches us anything , it ’s that zombies " expire " easy , but older feeling die severely . The patriarchs of the Muldoon and O’Flynn clans are as single - minded as the zombi hordes that fence them . This does n’t make them particularly likable or fun to look out , but it does serve to prove a point .
