Sweet! This movie has, like, almost no story, but it’s flippin' hilarious! Gosh!
Napoleon Dynamiteis one of those pic that you ’ll either love or detest . There ’s not too much in between . About half the the great unwashed who see it will think it ’s a classic , and the other one-half will think it ’s one of the dumbest pic they ’ve ever seen . I happen to mean it ’s a classic — not because the storyline is unbelievably developed ( it ’s not ) , not because the picture has a terra firma - breaking point to make ( it does n’t ) , but because it ’s one of the funniest movies I have ever seen . I had a enceinte smile on my face throughout the entire movie , and at times I was laughing so hard that I almost could n’t catch my breathing spell . Most of the movie makes perfectly no sensory faculty , but it does n’t matter because it ’s so funny , and even charming at times .
The movie ’s tagline is " He ’s out to shew he ’s got nothing to turn up " and that ’s quite accurate . countersink in Preston , Idaho , the movie does a full job of reminding the hearing how silly and pointless high shoal can be . Napoleon Dynamite ( played by Jon Heder ) is his own person ; he has no need to be pop . However , that ’s a double - edge brand , since he ’s a prime butt for the bullies and suspensor , who give him a hard sentence every hazard they get . As if that ’s not risky enough , his home plate life is almost bad than his schooltime liveliness . He and his older chum , Kip ( played by Aaron Ruell ) , live with their granny , but when she work on holiday , she has their Uncle Rico ( play by Jon Gries ) stop by to take care of them . To say that Uncle Rico is not the knifelike puppet in the shed would be an understatement .
One day , while walking down the hall at school , Napoleon runs into Pedro Sanchez ( played by Efren Ramirez ) , a Mexican immigrant who has latterly part going to school there . They rapidly become friends , and the different way they attempt to help oneself each other throughout the motion picture ( some ways more successfully than others ) are mirthful and charming . Pedro does n’t seem to be afraid of anything ; he like a shot starts out by ask the most popular girl in school , Summer Wheatly ( played by Haylie Duff ) , to the upcoming school dance . Not surprisingly , she turns him down , so he asks Deb ( played by Tina Majorino ) . She accepts . Now keep in mind , Deb is a friend of Pedro and Napoleon , so Napoleon is a little dysphoric that Pedro beat him to the clout . ( The shipway he occasionally compliment Deb almost had me in stitches . ) But alternatively of lie in on it , Napoleon decide to ask Trisha to the dance . Trisha is a protagonist of Summer Wheatly , so it seems like she ’ll wrick him down , but through a screaming chain of event , she agree to go with him . The setting where they ’re driving to the dance has to be seen more than once .
curtly afterwards , Pedro decide to go for high school president . Since Summer Wheatly is running against him , he has a serious acclivitous struggle . With Deb ’s help , Napoleon and Pedro launch a grassroots campaign . Napoleon ’s Uncle Rico is n’t helping thing , though . He start out selling plastic crockery , but then he quickly graduates to sell female sweetening products . His potential customer base include girls who go to Napoleon ’s gamy schooling , include Deb , and he tells all of them that Napoleon referred them to him ( which is n’t true ) . uncalled-for to say , Napoleon ’s life becomes very complicated and unpleasant as a result .
The last part of the movie is an absolute joy to see . The scenery where Pedro gives his crusade speech and Napoleon does an ad-lib accompany - up skit is a classic . After the pic ends , ensure you watch all the end credits because there ’s a fillip scene at the goal .
This moving picture has already become a rage classic , and it deserve it . There are so many hilarious scenes and oddball quirks about this movie that I could n’t possibly lean them all in this review . Besides , I would n’t want to list them all here anyway . This is the variety of movie that just has to be visit . I could describe how much I enjoyed it until I ’m downhearted in the expression , but it ’s not until you see it that you ’ll empathize .
