Harrison Jr. ’s yarn is meant to infuse the pic with depth while capturing emotion , but it all ring rather hollow . Again , these are lesson of the film being overt in its head , yet agonizingly empty in the way it ’s stage .
The contrast is obvious , yet uncompelling . The film does n’t get practiced as it goes on , either , paint a picture of hopelessness and pain that is devoid of shade , emotion , and an geographic expedition of a young gentleman ’s life history that is forever changed . To that closing , Monsteris woefully superficial , opting for a square , factual structure rather than deliver a poignant , captivating narrative . It ’s developing and underwhelming , with clunky pacing and choppy scene transition . What could ’ve been a thoughtful , engrossing story unfortunately fails in every manner imaginable .
