On the whole,Journey 2is just a fun ride from beginning to end.

The plastic film is filled with cheap dialogue and jocularity , one - dimensional grapheme and an overdone plot that offers just a few notes of real heart or drama - but none of that really matters in this context . Kids will have fun with the material , and the adults companion them will be reasonably entertained as well .
Director Brad Peyton ( Cats & Dogs 2 ) crafts a suitable visual experience via some gracious tropical locales and strike ( but obvious ) unripened - silver screen and CGI effects . Journey 2is not potential to win any expert award - but again , in the setting of a Kid ' film , the visuals are sufficient . The three-D certainly adds to the fun - though it ’s more often than not used in that pop - out , ' in - your - face ' manner meant to enchant the fugitive attention of youngsters . But , to be fair , any movie that pass time showcasing The Rock rebound CGI berry off of his pecs is just out to have a good sentence , rather than impress with its expert prowess .
Of course , all the silliness would be too much if not for the cast of doer who manage to drudge it , and Dwayne Johnson and Michael Caine are two of the independent reasons why this flick lick as efficaciously as it does . Both are great lead man in their own right hand , and the combative relationship between Hank and Alexander ( as Sean ’s contend paternal figures ) create some large backchat , which are probably the movie ’s best moments .
Josh Hutcherson has become something of a bigger name since his firstJourneyfilm , but he does a sound occupation admit the screen and potraying a fairly superimposed protagonist - good quality in a youthful leading .
