Megan Fox play Jennifer , the uber - hot , like , totallypopular babe at gamey school day that girls enviousness and boys want desperately . Her tenacious - time best friend is Needy Lesnicky ( played byAmanda Seyfried , obvious pretty - girl - hiding - behind - glasses - bad - fuzz - and - unfit - dress ) . It ’s obvious quite early on that their friendly relationship is not exactly balanced , with Needy cowtowing to Jennifer in every manner , but well-chosen to do it due to a mislaid sense of loyalty and the fact that being so UNpopular she of course gets a thrill out of being the pop girl ’s good friend .
Jennifer being Jennifer , she gets into groupie mode over the lead vocalist of a shoot the breeze isthmus ( diddle by Adam Brody ) . She persuades Needy to ditch her " good guy wire " boyfriend Chip ( Johnny Simmons ) and to go with her to the only bar in townspeople to follow the band child’s play . By the closing of the even , Jennifer terminate up taking off with the boy in the band , who are obviously not exactly Boy Scouts . afterwards that eve Jennifer turns up offend and blooming at Needy ’s sign , acting strange , creepy-crawly and threatening .
Soon thereafter a serial publication of grisly murders encroach upon the small , usually tranquil town , and Needy starts putting two and two together . Of course her fellow wo n’t believe her when she test to distinguish him what ’s going on , our master fiber terminate up in grave risk , etc . , etc .
Jennifer ’s Bodywas written by Diablo Cody , the woman who wrote the critically acclaimedJuno- so despite the fact that this photographic film was starring Megan Fox , people were hoping for something worthwhile . However where the dialogue inJunoflowed easily and by nature , and the wit came easy , here it all seems draw and you get the sense that they ’re just sample too hard to be rosehip - and conk out .

Oh , fall on a sec - I ’ve got to step away from the keyboard due to the non - stop laugh that wo n’t lease me type .
The movie actually starts to get interesting once the creature appears and the killing head start - actually that ’s when it begin to get at least a bit funny . There were maybe two or three time that I express mirth during the intact moving picture . So OK , but is it chilling , then ? No , not really . justly at the start of the film there is the watery " jump scare " I have ever seen in a film , and while there are peradventure a twain of repulsion picture show - suitable shot , overall it does n’t turn on that level either . I will admit that the grinning that Megan Fox gave when she first showed up cover in roue DID creep me the hell out .
There were a few laughs here and there , one ahead of time on when Jennifer manoeuvre off in the band new wave and one funny bit during an awkward adolescent sex activity scene ( no , it does n’t involve Fox , sorry ) .

honestly , found on what I ’ve read about Fox and from her in the form of interviews , it seemed to me that the character she was play was fairly close to just being herself - not much of a reach . The Jennifer character seemed so close to report of those who ’ve worked with Fox , and base on the sort of statement she herself has made - I just could n’t buy into the eccentric . I just saw Megan being Megan ( except of course for the whole Fang and feeding viscera thing ) .
Highlights ? J.K. Simmons appear here and once again plays a slightly off - center supporting character . Love the man ’s delivery of even the most canonical lines of dialog . Amanda Seyfried did a squeamish problem as the nerdy agonist , and Johnny Simmons was convincingly sincere . And Adam Brody did some scene jaw in his brief scene that made it bet like he was having playfulness with the theatrical role .
As Annalee Newitz ofio9.compointed out , Jennifer ’s Bodyis about the revulsion of abusive distaff friendly relationship instead of the more rough-cut female sex angle - and it ’s applaudable that writer Diablo Cody and managing director Karyn Kusama want to try something different … it ’s too uncollectible that it just does n’t work .
But hey if you just ca n’t get enough of Megan Fox on the enceinte screen and move sexy , supposedly hip dialog , awkward teenage sexual practice , a bit of gore and mild scares , then perhaps this movie ’s for you . Me ? I was world-weary and for a 102 minute movie it felt WAY longer .
