While the film excels in driving the conflicts between the characters , they are lacking in maturation as individuals . The narrative try on to elevate the wager by making Gordon and Weronika a couple , adding to the conflict of one side against the other , but the moving picture does n’t take enough meter to establish who these fiber are as masses before they ’re in the fight of their lives .
