Doomsday Clockmay be DC ’s biggest comical ' event ' chronicle in years , but it ’s not being written like one . That ’s been the view put forward by Geoff Johns ever since hisWatchmensequel was announced , but it did n’t win over every comic aficionado . For the skeptics , the decision tobring theWatchmencharacters into DC ’s Universewas a shameless move , a cash - snap maculate the bequest of the original . The whole series is character - drive . It ’s all about the characters . We ’re spending fourth dimension with the character , and we ’re doing moments and interaction that I hope are unexpected . " This book is so much more about the part than about the plot . The plot of ground is pretty straightforward . But the characters rarify the plot . That ’s really what I want to do – you ’ve catch so many of these jumbo event history that are about other population , and they get braggart and macro , and the plot really is drive it . We really want the characters to drive it , which is why I wanted a very simple plot – that ’s complicate incredibly by these complex men and womanhood . "
Just how simple the plot remains is the material mystery ofDoomsday Clockso far . How Johns and Frank can keep the chronicle small when it involvesthe manipulator of the entire DC Universe - thatis the deciding component .
