We ’ve seen barbarian vampires stalk the night dressed in S&M - inspired leather ( Blade ) . We ’ve seen Victorian lamia roll cobble streets in corsets and capes ( Bram Stoker ’s Dracula ) . We ’ve even see sparkling teenaged vampires brood through the halls of their gamey school ( thanks a short ton , Twilight ) . To my cognition , though , we ’ve never seen a movie where order is completely controlled by vampires , and therein lies the good part ofDaybreakers , the new film from the sibling author - director squad of Peter and Michael Spierig .
