While the screenplay by Sharon Soboil ( making love on the Air ) set about to create a throughline , there ’s really none to be found , which may be a result of the adaptation process . Doing their best to keep to carry this franchise are Langford and Fiennes - Tiffin , who do an admirable job as Tessa and Hardin with what little they ’re given from the script . Along with theater director Castille Landon ( Fear of Rain ) , the actors pull off some steamy sexual practice scenes that showcase their interpersonal chemistry and attempt to keep the melodrama of the story grounded enough to be believable - though they ’re not quite successful in that . After We Fellis meant to be escapist fun , but Langford and Fiennes - Tiffin may be taking the roles too seriously in a movie that pick out itself too seriously . The picture has plenty of dramatic event , but little inflammation .
Ultimately , After We Fellwas made for buff of theAfterbooks and movie series to the ejection of anyone else , but it does n’t needs seem too interested with giving those fans a good movie . or else , much of the film feel like its checking off a leaning of aspect from the book and simply trying to equip everything into a 90 - second adaptation . While that may action fans ' superficial wants forAfter We Fell , it does n’t provide the same level of entertainment as the previous movie . The romanticist latent hostility ofAfter We Fellis just rehash the same emotional beats asAfterandAfter We Collidedwith Tessa and Hardin still have the same problems , with the storey giving them no real satisfying declaration . While that will presumably be present inAfter Ever glad , it makesAfter We Fellan underwhelming unveiling in the franchise . As a solution , After We Fellmay be deserving a sentry for truly diehard buff of Todd ’s character , but those who have n’t been as invested or have lose interest over time would be line up skipping this episode .
